Koorie Cultural Sessions

KOORIE DANCE AND MUSIC grades 3 – 12

Goals
Understand why and how Aboriginal people use traditional dance.
Observe and perform characteristic movements of various dances – eg Emu, Kangaroo.
Introduce the Didgeridoo - techniques and sounds.

Potential Activities
Following a demonstration of movements and explanation of the significance
of dance to Aboriginal culture, students invent a dance by combining what they have learned with their own imagination.
