"Presbyterian Ladies' College has used The Jungai Centre for a number of years for its Year 8 program.
The facilities are first class, both sleeping and general purpose areas. The setting is architecturally interesting and creates a tranquil environment. The focus on local Koori culture provides a special component to our program, especially the opportunity to learn from Koori staff in both the base, and out in the surrounding areas. Its situation provides easy access to walking, rafting and rock journeys. We have found the management supportive of our needs and responsive to feedback". ~ Bronwyn Ondracek, Outdoor Education Co-ordinator, Presbyterian Ladies’ College, Burwood |

"I am writing to thank the staff of Camp Jungai for providing our Grade 3/4 students and staff with a wonderful cultural experience. Every one thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the programs were |
closely related to our classroom teachings on Aboriginal culture.
Kris is an excellent Cultural Officer and related very well to the children. He was able to engage them fully during the planned sessions and joined in with them during their playtimes. All of the children spoke highly of Kris and left the camp feeling that they had made a new friend. They are looking forward to meeting him in Alexandra.

Sue and Andy were both very helpful and friendly. The children very much enjoyed having Sue join them during meals.
Once again thank you for providing us with a valuable learning experience in a friendly environment. Our school is looking forward to its next visit".

"Scotch College has held its Year 8 Outdoor Learning Program at The Jungai Centre for the past two years.
This facility provides an ideal bush setting and contains facilities that have allowed us to provide a challenging, interesting and safe program for our students. The Jungai Centre has well qualified and friendly staff and they have helped make our program a successful one".
~ John Prior, Coordinator of the Year 8 Outdoor Learning Program, 2005.

"The Jungai Centre is situated in glorious Australian bush surrounds, bordered on one side by the crystal clear, icy cold waters of the Rubicon River, and complete with a picturesque lake on the property.
Cabin accommodation is provided for both staff and students and this is kept in a well maintained and clean condition. The dining area is spacious and attractive with a welcoming enclosed fireplace and the food provided has always been both healthy and plentiful. The outdoor experiences offered at The Jungai Centre give the students a chance to participate in an aspect of rural life which they may not have previously encountered as city dwellers".
~ Margaret Gardner, Year 7 Form Teacher and Head Librarian, St Catherine's, Toorak. |
