WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SALARIED AND CASUAL CONDITIONS?

Flexibility is a way of life at OEG. And part of that is the option of a salaried, specified term or a casual position. So what is the difference in benefits to you?

Salaried Benefits

  1. Consistent income for the period of your agreement – you will receive the same amount of pay each fortnight regardless of whether you are at work or at play.
  2. You are entitled to more – OEG salaried staff accrue more Annual Leave than most other employers. On a salaried contract you can accrue up to 16 weeks of leave per annum. This means you can plan your personal trips seriously, and be paid to take them.
  3. Paid Personal Leave – on a salaried contract you are entitled to Personal Leave. This helps cover your salary when you are sick or need time off to care for a family member. Personal Leave accrues each year, so what you don’t use this year, you will be able to access next year.
  4. Additional Paid Leave – Parental Leave, Bereavement Leave, Special Leave and Volunteer Services Leave are all forms of paid leave available to assist with fitting your work into your life.
  5. Roster Priority – with a salaried position you have the ability to request the programs you want and you will be given preference over specified term casual positions at the same qual level.
  6. Training - places on training programs are offered to salaried people first.
  7. Reimbursements for training are only offered to salaried positions.
  8. Full OEG uniform allocation.
  9. The opportunity to align with specific schools i.e. work with the Firbank Journey.
  10. Paid staff days to assist in Professional Development.
