WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SALARIED AND CASUAL CONDITIONS?

Flexibility is a way of life at OEG. And part of that is the option of a salaried, specified term or a casual position. So what is the difference in benefits to you?
Salaried Benefits
- Consistent income for the period of your agreement – you will receive the same amount of pay each fortnight regardless of whether you are at work or at play.
- You are entitled to more – OEG salaried staff accrue more Annual Leave than most other employers. On a salaried contract you can accrue up to 16 weeks of leave per annum. This means you can plan your personal trips seriously, and be paid to take them.
- Paid Personal Leave – on a salaried contract you are entitled to Personal Leave. This helps cover your salary when you are sick or need time off to care for a family member. Personal Leave accrues each year, so what you don’t use this year, you will be able to access next year.
- Additional Paid Leave – Parental Leave, Bereavement Leave, Special Leave and Volunteer Services Leave are all forms of paid leave available to assist with fitting your work into your life.
- Roster Priority – with a salaried position you have the ability to request the programs you want and you will be given preference over specified term casual positions at the same qual level.

- Reimbursements for training are only offered to salaried positions.
